Add a Profile
Profile Structure Design
General
- You can add a profile by selecting its cross-section from the profile library.
- You can add a profile with the same cross-section that is already in the model.
- When adding profiles, it is recommended to add using control geometry, in which case e.g. modifying the dimensions of the profile structure is easy by modifying the control geometry.
- A profile can also be added by clicking the start and end point.
Add a profile in the library
- Start adding a profile:
- Vertex G4: Select the function Assembly | Add > Profile or
- Select the contextual function: Add > Profile
- Vertex G4 Plant: Select Assembly | Steel Structures | Profile or
- Select the contextual function: Add > Profile
- Vertex G4: Select the function Assembly | Add > Profile or
- Select a profile cross section from the browser:
- By using the context-sensitive function Select or
- By double-clicking the cross-section.
- Click the profile, drag it a little and release the mouse selection button.
- Select the table ID determining the profile size from the list.
- Or if the profile does not have a dimension table, enter the dimension in the dimension table that opens
- Add item data for the profile. Adding Item Data
- Click either a line or two points that determine the length of the profile.

- Continue adding a similar profile.
- If you want to change the profile you want to add:
- Click the middle mouse button or
- Press the V key. (V= Confirm).
- Select the context-sensitive function: OK.
- When you want to stop adding profiles:
- Select another function or
- Press the Esc key.
Add a similar profile that is already in the model
The function adds a similar and same-sized profile that you select from the model.
