Edit the Framing Tools of More than One Structure

The default framing tools for the layers of a structure can be set in the structure library. You can change framing tools by editing the structure properties.

Once the panel breaks have been generated, changes made to the wall, floor, ceiling or roof are no longer transferred to the panel. After this, the changes in framing tool need to be made for the panel and its layers.

Edit the properties of one or more identical structures as follows:

1. Select one or more structures with the same parameters. The structure can be a wall, horizontal structure or panel.
   • Wall, horizontal structure

     Select walls or horizontal structures in the architectural model, in the floor plan drawing or in the object tree. Horizontal structures must have the same presentation method (expanded/compressed).

   • Panel without parts

     You can select panels of the same type in the framing model, in the floor plan drawing or in the object tree. You can click a panel label in the floor plan drawing or in the object tree.

   • Panel with parts

     You can select panels of the same type in the framing model, in the floor plan drawing or in the object tree. You can click a panel label in the floor plan drawing or in the object tree. In the framing model, you can select panels by using a part:

     1. Hold down the Alt key and click a part. The entire panel becomes selected.
     2. Hold down the Ctrl+Alt keys, and click a part in another structure. The entire panel becomes selected.
2. Open the context-sensitive menu, and select either of the following:
   • Framing Tools. You can only edit the framing tool of the main frame.

     Framing Tools: Frame - Floor or Ceiling
   • Properties. You can select the layer to be edited from the list in the dialog box:
     1. Select a layer in the Layers list.
     2. Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu, and select Framing Tools.
3. Add or change the layer tool.

4. Edit the tool parameters in the dialog box.

   • Framing Tools: Main Frame of a Wall
   • Framing Tools: Sheathing
   • Framing Tools: Horizontal Battens
   • Framing Tools: Frame - Wall Sub Frame
   • Framing Tools: Frame - Floor or Ceiling
   • Framing Tools: Sheathing
   • Framing Tools: Cladding
   • Framing Tools: Beam Combiner
   • Framing Tools: Pattern Design Tool - Pattern Design Tool is an add-on option of the Vertex BD software.
5. Confirm by clicking OK. The editing will take effect in all the selected structures.

If you had already generated the parts, regenerate them, and update the panel drawings of the panels. The program prompts you to update the panel drawing when you open the drawing.
