Dialog Box Options

Material name
The current material of the selected face. Select a material by clicking the Select or Pick from surface button.
Select
Select a material from the library.
  1. Click the Select button. The browser is opened. The browser shows the My Library (user's materials) and Vertex Library (software supplier's materials).
  2. Open a folder/subfolder.
  3. Double-click the thumbnail of the desired material. You can recognize the software supplier's parametric materials from the naming practice "parametric".
  4. If necessary, edit the parameters of the parametric rendering material.Edit the parameters of the rendering material.
The default folder in the browser has been defined with the keyword lw_mtrl_folder in the system settings.
Pick from surface
Pick the material from a face in the model
  1. Click the Pick from surface button.
  2. Select the desired surface in the model.
  3. If necessary, edit the parameters of the parametric rendering material.Edit the parameters of the rendering material.
Edit
Edit the properties of the rendering material. The editable properties depend on the material and the additional features of the software.
  • If you are using the Rendering additional feature, you can edit the parameters of parametric rendering materials and the shading properties of non-parametric materials.
  • Without the additional feature, you can edit the parameters of the parametric rendering material. If the button is not shown, the material is not parametric.
Edit the Parameters of a Rendering Material
Edit the Shader Properties of a Material - requires the Rendering add-on feature.
Material Category
The material category to which the surface belongs. The material categories for building components are defined in the structure or component libraries. A default rendering material is set for each material category in the material link database (LWMAP).
As the system administrator, you can edit the default rendering material set for a material category, using a system management function.
Material categories are not defined for parts (G4) that are modeled with the modeler. When modeling the rendering material of a G4 part, you can select the material category from a list or building model with the Pick from surface button. The default material determined by the material category is set for the surface when Use the default material of the category is selected.
