Edit Assembly with the Dimension Table (3D)
You can edit the part geometry by the dimension table values. If variables have been defined for the geometric features, the dimension table will be opened automatically when adding a library feature and component.
Here, "part" also means a library component and feature, as these are formed by a part.
The use of a dimension table is based on a part's sketches and features. Their data can be controlled using the variable values in the table.
As,an example the component, which is controlled by the dimension table and the variable, which value user can define. Note in the dialog box pages Dimension / Preview.
You can edit a part's geometry as follows:
- Select the part.
- Select the context-sensitive function Dimension Table.
- Do one of the following:
- Edit the part's geometry by selecting Select size field the Table ID, which defines the variable values.
- Edit the values in the allowed fields in the dimension table or define a variable value from the model by clicking the Click button.
- If no table IDs have been defined, enter new values in the part's variable fields.
- Refresh changes to the Preview image by pressing the Apply button.
- If the part is not a library component or a feature, create a dimension table of the part. Define the variable data in the dialog box.
- Click OK.
Note:
- Since a library feature and component are formed by a part, their table data will be defined for a part. The part will be saved as a library feature or component only after creating the dimension table.
- Define the geometry of a library feature when adding it. After positioning the feature, you can edit the geometry by selecting, for example, a face formed by the feature, for editing or by double-clicking the symbol of the feature in the feature tree of the part.
- Define the geometry of a library component when adding it. After positioning the component, you can edit the geometry (change the component) by double-clicking the component or selecting it for editing from the assembly tree.
