Rotate a Sketch
This function can be used to rotate the entire sketch around a point selected from the sketch. Rotating a sketch is possible if the geometric constraints of the sketch allow rotation. When the sketch is rotated, the constraint manager will attempt to solve the geometric constraints of the sketch.
- Select a point from the sketch to act as the center point around which you will rotate the sketch.
- Select the context-sensitive function Rotate Sketch.
- Select a second point from the sketch to be used to rotate the sketch around the selected center point.
- Move the mouse and the sketch will rotate if its geometric constraints allow rotation.
- Select a new position for the sketch.
Note:
- Rotating the sketch is allowed if you delete geometric constraints preventing rotation from the sketch, for example the parallel with the axes of the sketching coordinate system constraint.
