Assembly Item Data Dialog Box
General
The dialog box is related to the following functions:
- File > New dialog box function Item Data.
- The context-sensitive function Item Data of the main symbol of the assembly feature tree.
- The context-sensitive function Properties of the main symbol of the assembly feature tree and the function Item Data in the dialog box that it opens.
- Some of the assembly's archive data is copied to the item data when you add the item to the model for the first time.
- The item structure data comprises the part data and the non-modeled parts a.k.a. extra parts.
Item Data
- Label
- Define the item label by selecting Label?
- item label.
- If the field is cleared, the assembly structure data cannot move to the item structure.
- Label - Table Model
- A table model is a model that describes several items. Table model item is automatically named with the prefix VAR and assembly label, for example - VAR-WheelAssy.
- For example, VAR-WheelAssy.
- You can complement the item label.
- As the table model structure data is the items, which is added to the model or to the configuration of the model.
- Transfer to Items
- Save the item to the item database (d_COMPONENTS).
- See the instructions for transferring an item to the item database Add an Item and Transfer it to the Item Database.
- Edit
- Open the item data for editing.
- The Item Data dialog box has two tabs: Archived Item Data and Purchased Item Data.
- Description
- Enter or edit the description, if necessary.
- The field gets its content from the document's archive data when you add the item to the model for the first time.
- If you select the item label from the item database, the content of the field comes from there.
- Dimensions
- Enter the main dimensions of the item, if necessary.
- If you select the item label from the item database, the content of the field comes from there.
- Unit
- Select it from the list opened by the preset button .
- If you select the item label from the item database, the content of the field comes from there.
- You can modify the units to be used with the function System | Databases | Application > Archives: Unit.
- Dimensions
- Enter the main dimensions of the item, if necessary.
- If you select the item label from the item database, the content of the field comes from there.
- Standard
- Enter the label of the standard connected to the item, if necessary.
- If you select the item label from the item database, the content of the field comes from there.
- Drawing, Model Labels
- This data is collected from the archive data of the model and the model drawing.
- The fields are inactive, so you cannot fill in them yourself.
- Weight
- Calculate the weight of the assembly by clicking the Calculate button next to the Weight field.
- Weighted
- Select Weighted to enter the weight.
- In this case, the weight will not be calculated even if you press the Calculate button.
- Area
- Calculate the total area of the assembly parts by clicking the Calculate button next to the Area field.
- Factor
- If necessary, enter a factor for the area.
- ABC
- If necessary, select the ABC class of the item from the list opened by the preset button.
- Purchasing
- If necessary, select the purchasing method from the list opened by the preset button.
- Stored part
- Defines stored part as the item data.
- Spare part
- Defines spare part as the item data.
- Class
- Select a class either from the list opened by the preset button of the Class field or
- select the preset button in the fields Main Group or Sub Group, and select the classes.
- The class defines an item's classification.
- You can affect the preselections of the classification system with the function System | Databases | Classes.
- Main Group
- The main class of product classification.
- Select all classes by selecting the preset button in the Main Group or Sub Group fields.
- Sub Group
- The subclass of product classification.
Item Structure
The item structure data comprises the part data and the non-modeled parts a.k.a. extra parts.
- The structure data for the assembly item is displayed, but cannot be modified in these dialog boxes.
- The Item Structure Data part is not in the Item Data dialog box when you create a new document and enter item data for the model.
