Changes in Pipeline Route

Piping Design

A pipe component (elbow) or a bending will be automatically added between pipes in places where the pipeline's direction changes.

  • In a 3D model, a pipe elbow and a bend in the pipe look identical. In the assembly tree they are displayed in different ways.
  • In a 2D drawing, the difference between a pipe elbow and a bending is evident.

Select either one of the followings to the route changes.

Using elbows

A piping component, a pipe elbow, is added between the pipes. The pipes and piping components are displayed as separate rows in the parts list.

Using bends

Pipes are added as bent pipes. The pipe sections are grouped into a kind of a subassembly in the assembly tree. Bent pipe sections are listed as a single row in the parts list.

Note:
  • The bending radius is maintained if you select a bent pipe or, at least, one bent pipe is included in the selected pipeline. The bending radiuses of bent pipes are maintained when changing the pipe size.
