Update Changes From the Main Model to the Shared Model

Sub Projects

The main project and the shared model can be designed at the same time: if there are changes to the main model, they can be updated to the shared model that the designer is working on.

When both the main model and the shared model are in the DesignStream system or in the company's common project archive on a network server, you can update the changes to the shared model as follows:
  1. Open the project's document browser.
  2. Select the project id.
  3. Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
  4. Select Update Master Model.

Model as a VXZ File

It is possible to share the model even if there is no DesignStream system or common project archive on a network server. In this case, the model can be shared to the designer as a compressed file. However, changes made to the main model cannot be updated to the model that the designer is working on. If the work already done by the designer is to be kept, the designer must deliver the shared model to the main designer, who will update the changes made to the main model to the shared model and deliver it back to the designer as a compressed file.

When transferring a compressed file, it should be noted that there cannot be two projects with the same name in the project archive. The previous version of the project must be saved with a new name or deleted from the project archive before importing the new version as a compressed file.
