Bend Using a Line

Sheet-Metal Design

You can bend a sheet metal part using a line sketched on one of its surfaces.

Figure 1: A sketch is added to the face of a sheet metal part and the part is bent. After, another sketch is added and the part is bent again.

Create a sketch-based bend as follows:

  1. Add a new sketch to the face of the part.
  2. Sketch a line along which you wish to bend the part.
  3. Select OK.
  4. Select Bend.
  5. Define the bend data in the dialog box.
  6. Select OK.
Note:
  • Draw a sketch line on the face of a sheet-metal part by first selecting the sheet metal part and then selecting New SketchFace.
  • Edit the feature properties by first selecting the face formed by the feature, and then selecting the Edit Operation function.
  • Edit the feature sketch by first selecting the face formed by the feature, and then selecting the Edit Sketch function.
