Compare Library Contents

You can compare the contents of two libraries of the same library type. You can compare the type, length, and order of fields in the databases of the libraries, or the content of the fields.

  1. Open the library browser by selecting System | Libraries | Libraries.
  2. Select the main folder. You can select System Libraries, Custom Libraries or All Libraries.
  3. Select a library type folder, for example Structural Sheets. You will see the libraries in the right side browser pane.
  4. In the right side browser pane, hold down the Ctrl key and select two libraries.
  5. Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
  6. Select Compare the Contents of Libraries. The function opens the Show Changes dialog box.
  7. Choose what you want to compare:
    • Compare structure - Compare the database fields. Choose from the options:
      • Compare types and lengths of the fields
      • Compare order of the fields
    • Compare contents - Select the Relation field, for example the row number $RID, and click Compare. View deleted, added, and changed content marked in different colors in the dialog box. If there are no markings, there are no differences in the databases.
