Create a New Library in the Browser

Open the library browser by selecting System | Libraries | Libraries.

You can create a customer-specific library in the library browser in different ways:

Create a new empty library.
Select a set of components and copy them to a new library.
Select a set of components and copy them to a new project-specific library.

Create a new empty library

In the browser, select a library of the desired type. The library can be a standard system library or your own library.
Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
Select Create New Library.
Type a description for the library.

The new library appears in a sub folder of the selected library type in the browser's Custom Libraries main folder. You can add components to a library by copying components from another library of the same type.

Copy components to a new library

In the browser, select a library of the desired type. The library can be a standard system library or your own library.
Select one or more components in the right side browser pane.
Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
Select Copy to New Custom Library.
Type a description for the library.

The new library appears in a sub folder of the selected library type in the browser's Custom Libraries main folder. The copied components appear in the right side browser pane.

Copy components to a new project-specific library

In the browser, select a library of the desired type. The library can be a standard system library or your own library.
Select one or more components in the right side browser pane.
Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
Select Copy to New Project Library.
Type a description for the library.

The new library appears in the browser's Project Libraries main folder in a sub folder corresponding to the selected library type. The copied components appear in the right side browser pane.

Note:

The program automatically generates the name of the library folder on the disk.
System tab is only available if you are a system administrator.
