Create One New Part From the Assembly Parts
General
- Use the Boolean function when you want to create a single part from the parts of an assembly.
- The parts of the assembly remain unchanged in the function described below.
Create a new part from the assembly parts
- Open the assembly model in the working window.
- Select the context-sensitive Create New.
- Define the properties of the new part:
- Select Part as the document type.
- Name the document, fill in the archive data and select the saving location.
- Select OK.
- Click OK to exit the part model into the assembly.
- Select all parts of the assembly by limiting the area with two corner points.
- Click the lower left corner point by clicking with the left mouse button and keep the button pressed.
- Then move the cursor to the top right corner point so that all parts of the assembly are inside the enclosure and release the button.
- The selected parts are highlighted with color.
- Select the context-sensitive function Boolean.
- The program opens the dialog box Boolean Operation.
- Select the Unite operation.
- Under the Tool Parts, select Insert.
- Click the (new empty) part you created earlier in the feature tree.
- Select the context-sensitive OK function to confirm the part selection.
- The program adds the selected part to the list of parts to be modified
- Select OK.
- The program creates geometry for the part.
- Delete the new part in the model tree, and save the assembly.
- Open a new part model in the browser.
