Edit a Part or Resize a Component in a Pattern

General

  • If you edit the geometry of a link part in a pattern, all parts will be updated.
    • You can recognize a link part in the assembly tree by its .L extension.
  • If the components of the pattern are local parts, you can edit individual pattern parts so that they are different from each other.

Editing the geometry of a link part in a pattern

  1. Select the part to be edited:
    • Select a part in the pattern and then select the context-sensitive function Edit or
    • Double-click the part.
  2. Edit the geometry of the part.
  3. Return to the assembly by selecting the context-sensitive OK.

Resizing a library component in a pattern

If you resize a library component, all the components in the pattern will be resized.

  1. Select a component:
    • Select a component in the pattern and then select the context-sensitive function Edit or
    • Double-click a component.
  2. Select a new size for the library component from the dimension table or edit the values in the fields.
  3. Select OK.
