Activating a New Work Plane

Activate a new work plane as follows:

1. Activate the model window.
2. Select Modeling | Connection | Distance > Activate New Workplane.
3. Select a building component, such as a wall or a truss volume.
4. If necessary, rotate the model until the work plane is perpendicular. For example, select Select From Model from the tool strip, and click a surface of the building component.
5. Do one of the following:
   • Frame modeling

     Model the frame parts on the work plane. You can add and delete profiles, joints and geometric constraints.

   • Shaping a wall volume

     Add constraints between the edges of the wall volume.

6. Then, close the work plane. Select Modeling | Connection | Distance > Close Workplane.
