Work Plane

You can use a work plane in following cases:

  • Frame modeling

You want to model the details of a plane structure such as the frame parts of a specific wall or roof truss parts. When you add the parts to a work plane, they will be attached to the building component. If the shape of the building component changes, the components are adjusted accordingly. You can also define geometric constraints and profile joints between the components, for example, on the work plane.

Work planes are suitable for modeling light wall framings, for example, when using wall panel tools is not suitable. Such frames include the frames of a summer house or a garden shed.

  • Shaping a wall volume

You want to define the positions of different wall layer parts in relation to each other using geometric constraints, for example parts of a siding layer.
