Anchors

Add a single anchoring part to a wall panel.

  1. Select Modeling | Panel | Wall > Framing Accessories.
  2. Select the folder Anchors.
  3. Double-click one of the following anchors:
    • (1010) Anchors
    • (1040) Sole plate anchors
    • (1120) Wall straps
  4. Select a wall panel.
  5. Select the joint component.
  6. Click a location.

As a default, the locating point of the joint component is in its center point and the joint component is locked for movement along the wall panel's center line. If necessary, you can change the locating point by clicking the Loc.Point button or pressing the F8 key. This will change the locating point by turns to one of the four corners of the joint component's 2D presentation.

You can add anchors to all wall panels at once by selecting (1020) Anchors to panel in the browser:
  1. Select Modeling | Panel | Wall > Framing Accessories.
  2. Select the folder Anchors.
  3. Double-click (1020) Anchors to panel.
  4. Select the anchor properties:
    • Select the upper check box to add anchors to the bottom edge of the wall panel. Select the anchor from the list.
    • Select the lower check box to add anchors to the top edge of the wall panel. Select the anchor from the list.
    • Enter the distance of the anchor from the stud.
    • Enter the maximum distance between the anchors.
  5. Select a wall panel. Hold down the Ctrl key to select multiple panels, or press Ctrl+A to select all wall panels of the same type.
  6. Select Confirm.
In steel structure environments, you can also add the following anchor:
  1. Select Modeling | Panel | Wall > Framing Accessories.
  2. Select the folder Anchors.
  3. Double-click (1030) Holdown Anchors.
  4. Select the properties of the anchor.
  5. Select a wall panel.
  6. Select a stud.
  7. Select Confirm.
