Explode a Smart Model

Sub Projects

If necessary, you can explode a smart model in the main project. The building components remain in the main project, but the program removes the link from them to the smart model project. Changes made to the smart model are no longer updated to the exploded building components in the main project. The project of the smart model remains unchanged in the project archive.

The main project can have other smart models with the same ID, whose link to the smart model project remains unchanged.

  1. Select the smart model.
    • Select in the object tree
      1. Set the object tree visible by selecting the Model tab in the left side browser.
      2. Open the branch Smart models.
      3. Select the ID of the smart model.
    • Select in the drawing or model window of the main project
      1. Select one object that belongs to the smart model.
      2. Click the + grip point to select the entire model.

        You can also select this function from the tool strip.
  2. Do either of the following:
    • Select Smart Model | Tools | Explode.
    • Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu, and select Smart Model > Explode.
