Edit a Machining Feature
General
- The machining feature is included in a part or component.
- A part or component can be all tool geometry, or it can have regular geometry and tool geometry.
- A machining feature, part or component can be dimension-driven if variables have been used in its sketch or functions. The dimension table variables can be locked or freely editable.
- The methods of editing the machining feature depend on the above-mentioned factors.
The machining feature is included in the component
- Editing of the machining feature is possible by selecting a new size from the dimension table of the component, if all variables in the dimension table of the component are locked
- Select the component containing the working feature to edit.
- Double-click the component or
- Select the component and the context-sensitive function Edit.
- The program opens the dialog box Dimension Table.
- Select a new size.
- OK.
- Execute the machining again
- Press the F5 key or
- Select the context-sensitive function
The machining feature is included in the part
- The instruction is suitable for both a part and a component that has at least one of the variables in the dimension table unlocked.
- Select the part containing the working feature to edit
- Double-click the part or component you want to edit, or
- Click the part and select the context-sensitive function: Edit.
- Edit a part
- With the dimension table if the part has a dimension table.
- Edit the features of the part.
- Return to the assembly by selecting OK.
- Execute the machining again
- Press the F5 key or
- Select the context-sensitive function
Note:
- After editing the geometry of a machining feature, refresh the changes to the assembly by re-selecting or by pressing the F5 key.
