Example: Use a Machining Feature in an Assembly

The example is related to the function Machining Features.

Starting point

  • Left: The part that will be machined in the assembly.
  • Middle: The part with the machining feature.
  • Right: The assembly created from the parts.

Machining

  • Machining is executed with the context-sensitive function Machining Features Execute
  • Left: The original part in the archive.
  • Right: The machined part in the assembly (the part containing the machining feature is hidden).

Note: The machining feature machines both the link and the local part (default). If necessary, you can remove the possibility of machining both the link and local parts by modifying the properties of the part.
