Sheet-Metal Design
Dialog Box Options
- Gap
- Defines the gap created from cutting the sheet.
- Formula
- Defines gap's or position's variable.
- Start, Middle and End
- Select the gap's direction in relation to the cutting position. As a default the program will create the gap according to the setting Middle. Then the gap is centered to the cutting position.
- Relative Position
- Select Position and define a relative position to the cut with a slide control or formula.
- Click a position.
- Define a position from the model by selecting . Select the cut position and select the context-sensitive function OK or press the mouse middle button. You can select a point when cutting a cylindrical or tapered surface. You can select a point or face and also set an offset value when cutting a planar surface. If the check box is selected, the chosen element is saved in the feature.
- Exact position
- Select the positioning either From start or From end of the edge line and set the exact position for the cut by defining a value or formula. Type the position as a distance (in millimeters) to the planar surface and as an angle (in degrees) to the cylindrical or conical surface. The software illustrates the beginning and the end of an edge line with the numbers 1 and 2.
- Set another cut position separately
- For a planar face, you can set another cut position separately on the other edge line. Then the cut is created in a specific direction. Select the check box Set another cut position separately and define the other cutting point’s position.
- Elements
- A list containing the planar or cylindrical surfaces and edge lines based on which the feature is modeled. View, add, change or delete selected elements with the buttons. You can edit the list also with the context-sensitive menu.
