Properties of Bend

Sheet-Metal Design

You can edit a bend line’s properties in a 2D drawing.

  1. Select one or more lines from a drawing.
  2. Select the context-sensitive function Properties.
  3. Select Change values. To change the line's properties, the selection Bending line must be selected for the line.
Note: This function can be only used to define the properties of a line drawn using the 2D drawing functions. Editing the bendlines of a flattened view of a drawing is not possible, because the view is a projection of a model that will only change when the model is edited.

Dialog Box Options

Radius
Defines the value of the bend radius. If you have selected more than one line, the same radius value is set for all of them.
Figure 1: You can change the properties of several bend lines at once.
Angle
Defines the value of the bend angle for the selected line. Enter a positive value for the new angle value. If the line already has an angle value, you are editing an old angle value, angles defined away from the viewer are displayed as negative (-) angle values. Positive (+) angles cause bending towards the viewer.
Direction
Defines the direction of the bend.
  • Away from the viewer (A)
  • Towards the viewer (B)
When you select a direction, always specify the angle value as a positive value. You can view the change in the direction only after bending the sheet to a model (3D).
