Automatic Floors

The program will automatically add a floor based on the walls in the floor plan when the Automatic Floors setting has been enabled. Enable the setting as follows:

  1. Open the project's document browser.
  2. Open Settings > Design settings.
  3. Double-click Constraints and sketching.
  4. Select Automatic floors.
  5. Confirm by clicking OK.

You can select the floor structure once you have added the walls. You can select the default floor defined for the main height level by clicking Default Floor. The program will add the floor to its own drawing-model pair. The selected structure will be set as the default structure of the drawing-model pair for automatic floors. You can later change the default floor, see Change Default Material of Automatic Floors.

Automatic floors are divided into two parts: The core and the layers below it form the actual floor, which is added to the entire floor area following the exterior walls. The surface layers above the core form a roof-specific layered area. You can change and edit the materials of the layered area in the normal way.

Note:
  • When the setting is enabled, you can add a hole to the floor, or define a different floor structure or surface material to a certain area by defining a split line for the floor.
  • When the setting is enabled, the program always automatically regenerates the floor when you edit or update the floor plan by moving walls, for example. Changes made to the floor shape will not remain in regeneration.
  • When the settings is enabled, you cannot delete the floor. The program will automatically generate the floor every time you edit or update the floor plan.
