Bend Deduction

Bend deduction is the difference between the sum of the sides of a bent sheet and the length of the unbent sheet. In figure 1 the calculation of the bend deduction is demonstrated.

If figure 1 A and B are the lengths of the sides of the bent sheet, T is the length of the unbent sheet and BD is the bend deduction.

Note: The value used in the Vertex bend deduction table is A HALF of the bend deduction.

It is possible to determine the bend deductions experimentally like in figure 1. If you receive complete bend deduction tables from the bending machine's manufacturer, take into account that their values are not necessarily halves of the bend deductions.
