V-opening

V-opening (die width V) is the widest part of the opening in the die of a bending machine. In figure 1 the die width (V) and the punch radius (R) are demonstrated.

In sheet metal design you can define a die width v and punch radius for each bend if you have enabled a stretch calculation method that utilizes the bend deduction table. Based on these values the strain caused by the bending is taken into account.
