Select a Hidden Part with the Selection Assistant
General
- Selecting parts that are behind or inside other parts is difficult because you cannot click them directly.
- You can use the selection assistant to select parts at the cursor behind other parts.
- Previous methods are also available, hiding parts in front (H key), or jumping to the next surface (W key).
Select a Hidden Part with the Selection Assistant
- Place the cursor in the assembly where the part to be selected is.
- The program displays a tip text that tells the name of the part.
- Hold the cursor in place for a moment.
- The program displays the tip text again.
- Click the right mouse button (not the selection button).
- The program opens a list of the assemblies and parts behind the cursor.
- If you right-clicked as soon as the program first displayed the tip text, the program opens a context-sensitive menu.
- Move the cursor in the list to highlight the part or subassembly under the cursor.
- Click a part or subassembly in the list to select it.
- Continue with the context-sensitive function assigned to the part.
