Repair an Incorrect Part

General

  • This instruction is related to repairing parts that are found when analyzing the model with the function Assembly | Tools | Analyze.
  • After analysis, the assemblies with incorrect parts and acis-incorrect parts are marked in the tree view with red color.
  • Acis error data is not saved in the feature tree of the assembly, so the user should follow the instructions below so that the errors are corrected and parts are not marked with red color in the future.

Perform the Repairing of Parts

  1. Select the part from the assembly or the assembly feature tree where the analysis indicates there are errors.
  2. Select the Open Model function.
  3. Analyze the part by selecting the function Part | Tools | Analyze. Select at least Check model geometry for the analysis.
    • Or use the context-sensitive function ACIS Geometry > Check.
  4. Repair the part by selecting the context-sensitive function ACIS Geometry > Healing.
  5. Save the repaired part File > Save.
  6. Activate the assembly model.
  7. Update the changed parts to the assembly.

    • Update the assembly by using the context-sensitive function Update All.
    • At the same time, the program performs the analysis.
  8. If necessary, re-analyze the assembly.

Alternative method

  • You can select an incorrect part from the assembly tree or the assembly and the context-sensitive function Edit.
  • You can then analyze and repair the part’s Acis geometry.
    • As described in points 3 and 4 above.
  • To exit the part model to the assembly, use the function Part | Return | OK or the context-sensitive function OK.
    • The program performs the analysis.
    • There is no need to save the part model or update the changed parts separately.
  • If necessary, re-analyze the assembly
