Move and Rotate an Entire Assembly

You can move and rotate an assembly into a desired position if it has been modeled in an undesired position or if it is in a wrong position after importing. This function will move and/or rotate all the parts and subassemblies of the assembly at once. Move and rotate an assembly as follows:

  1. Select the main assembly from the assembly tree.
  2. Select the context-sensitive function Move All.
  3. Fill in the data in the Move All Instances dialog box. Select the position of the assembly's origin with the Origin button and select the directions of the coordinate axes with the X-dir, Y-dir and Z-dir buttons.
  4. Select OK.
Note: If you have added constraints that don’t make sense after the move or rotation, they must be added again. For example a coincidence constraint between a default plane and a part's face.
