Change a Part to a Local Part

General

  • The function changes the link part or link subassembly to a local part or subassembly.
  • Changes made to the local part do not appear in the original part.
  • It is not possible to create the local part’s or subassembly’s own drawing.
  • The item link is removed from the local part or subassembly. Also applies to the situation where the models are stored in Vertex Flow.

Replace the assembly part or subassembly with a local one

  1. Select the part or subassembly to be changed to local.
    • The part or subassembly must be under the (main) assembly.
    • Select the part either in the feature tree or in the model window.
    • Select the subassembly in the feature tree.
  2. Select the context-sensitive function Other Functions> Change to Local.
    • The program adds LOCAL_ to the beginning of the label.
    • In the feature tree, the part suffix .L is removed.
Note:
  • The advantage of a local part is that the user will be better equipped to distinguish parts that are actual items or parts with drawing numbers that are compiled into the parts list, from those included in the assembly. For example, tests during development work.
