Edit an Assembly Constraint

You can edit the constraints in an assembly as follows:

  • Editing the value of a dimension constraint.
  • Changing the elements connected to a geometric constraint.

Editing Dimension value

This function can be used to change the angle and distance dimensions defined for the elements of a part.

  1. Select the part whose constraint you want to edit from the assembly tree.
  2. Select the constraint from the bottom frame of the assembly tree.
  3. Do either of the following:
    • Select the context-sensitive function Edit.
    • Double-click the dimension constraint.
  4. Edit the dimension value in the dialog box and confirm it.

Changing the Elements of a Constraint

This function can be used to change an element (line, point and/or face) connected to the geometric constraint of a part.

  1. Select the constraint to be edited from the assembly tree. The elements connected to the constraint will be highlighted in the assembly.
  2. Select the context-sensitive function Elements.
  3. Select the element to be changed in the dialog box: line/point. The selected element is highlighted in the assembly.
  4. If you want to reselect an element you have already selected, click the Change button.
  5. Select a new element from the assembly.
  6. Finally, accept the change.
