Save the Selected Parts as a New Subassembly

Starting point

  • The assembly has parts and possibly subassemblies from which you want to form a new assembly, for example for a drawing depicting a separate subassembly.
  • When modeling the assembly, no account has been taken of parts that can be welded together, for which it is desired to make a separate drawing for welding, or subassemblies from which the production assembles subassemblies before the final assembly.

Save the part or parts as a new subassembly

  1. Select one or more parts from the assembly tree or model.
  2. Select the context-sensitive function Save as Assembly....
  3. Define the data of the new document:
    • Name the part in the Label field.
    • Select To Project when creating a document for a specific project.
      • Activate the old project with the Select button or
      • create a new project by selecting New.
    • Select Local to save the assembly as a local assembly.
  4. Select OK.
Note:
  • In Flow, the selected parts are automatically saved as new assembly items in the product structures.
