Library

You can edit the geometry or properties of SmartSnap component (part or assembly) added from the component library in an assembly.

Editing the geometry with the dimension table

Edit the geometry of the SmartSnap component with the dimension table. For example, edit the number or diameter of the part component's holes in the dimension table.

  1. Do either of the following:
    • Double-click a SmartSnap component in the assembly model or the assembly tree.
    • Select a SmartSnap component and then select the context-sensitive function Dimension Table.
  2. Edit the values of the variables in the dimension table fields.
  3. Click OK.

Editing the geometry in an assembly

Select a SmartSnap component for editing in the assembly, and edit the component geometry using features (part component) or parts (assembly component).

  1. Select the SmartSnap component to be edited in the working window or the assembly tree.
  2. Select the context-sensitive function Edit.
  3. Edit the geometry of the component.
  4. Exit from the editing mode back to the assembly by selecting the context-sensitive function OK.
Note:
  • If necessary, you can save an edited SmartSnap under a new name with the Save as new function. You can do this if you wish to create a drawing and a product database from the edited component.

If you save an edited SmartSnap component under a new name, it will become a link part or a link assembly. Its external references will also be retained.
