Add an Angle Constraint
General
- In a 3D sketch, when entering an angle constraint, in addition to the elements, you must also click the axis of rotation around which the angle is measured. If it is not clicked, no angle constraint is added.
- The lines to be dimensioned are projected onto the normal plane of the axis of rotation, which angle is then dimensioned.
- Because of this, lines that are not located in the normal plane of the axis of rotation will not be sufficiently defined by a single angle dimension.
Add an angle constraint to a 3D sketch
- Select the function 3D Sketch | Constraints | Add angle constraint or
- select the context-sensitive function Constraints > Angle.
- Select the first line.
- This line remains in place unless the other line is locked in place with constraints.
- Select the second line.
- This line moves so that it is in the desired angle in relation to the first line unless it is locked in place with constraints.
- Select the rotation the axes.
- If you do not click the axis of rotation, no angle constraint is added.
- Click the position of the dimension.
- The program opens the dialog box Edit Constraint.
- Edit the data in the Edit constraint dialog box.
- Edit Constraint.
- At least check the value of the dimension.
- Add a formula, if you want to control the geometry with a dimension table.
- Select OK.
- Repeat steps 2- 7 to add new angle constraints.
- Stop adding the angle constraints
- Select another function or
- press the V key or
- press the Esc key or
- click the middle mouse button.
