Circle with Three Points

General

  • You can sketch circles by clicking three radius points that are not located on the same line.
  • If you do not select a work plane, the circle is drawn on the drawing plane, the plane that is currently facing you.

Sketch a circle in a 3D sketch by clicking three radius points

  1. Select the function 3D Sketch | Lines | Circle with Three Points or
    • select the context-sensitive function Circle > 3 Rad. Pnts / Tang.
  2. If necessary, select the line properties, under 3D Sketch | Style
  3. If necessary, select Workplane to sketch a circle on an auxiliary plane.
  4. Select the first radius point.
  5. Select the second radius point.
  6. Select the third ring point.
  7. Repeat steps 2 to 6 to continue sketching circles.
  8. Stop sketching circles
    • Select another function or
    • Press the middle mouse button or
    • Press the Esc key or
    • Press the V key (V = Confirm).

Sketching 3 point circles on a plane sketch differs in some respects from drawing 3 point circles in 3D sketching.
