Closed Spline (3D)
General
- Sketch a closed spline curve by clicking points. When you confirm the point selection as completed, the program also completes the curve between the first and last point you selected.
- Later, you can select the spline curve to display the control points (= grips) of the curve. You can snap to these points and drag them to new locations.
- If you do not select a work plane, the spline curve is drawn on the drawing plane, the plane that is currently facing you.
Draw a closed spline in a 3D sketch
- Select the function 3D sketch | Lines | Closed Spline or
- select the context-sensitive function Line > Closed Spline
- If necessary, select the line properties, under 3D Sketch | Style
- If necessary, select Workplane to sketch a spline curve on an auxiliary plane.
- Click the curve's control points.
- Click at least 2 points for the curve.
- Stop sketching this closed spline curve
- Press the V key (V = Confirm) or
- Press the middle mouse button.
- Repeat steps 2 to 4 to continue sketching closed spline curves.
- Stop drawing closed spline curves
- Select another function or
- Press the middle mouse button or
- Press the Esc key or
- Press the V key (V = Confirm).
Sketching closed spline curves on a plane sketch differs in some respects from drawing closed spline curves in 3D sketching.
