Closed Spline
General
- Sketch a closed spline curve by clicking points. When you confirm the point selection as completed, the program also completes the curve between the first and last point you selected.
- You cannot cut a closed spline curve with Delete Section.
- Later, you can select the spline curve to display the control points (= grips) of the curve. You can snap to these points and drag them to new locations.
Sketch a closed spline curve
- Select the function Sketch | Lines | Closed Spline or
- select the context-sensitive function Line > Closed Spline
- If necessary, select the line properties, under Sketch | Style
- Click the curve's control points.
- Click at least 2 points for the curve.
- Stop sketching this closed spline curve
- Press the V key (V = Confirm) or
- Press the middle mouse button.
- Repeat steps 2 to 4 to continue sketching closed spline curves.
- Stop drawing closed spline curves
- Select another function or
- Press the middle mouse button or
- Press the Esc key or
- Press the V key (V = Confirm).
Example 1
- 1...5: Spline curve control points are clicked.
- 6: The curve drawing is confirmed.
Example 2, a closed spline curve with two points
- You can also draw a closed spline curve with two points, selecting a diagonal, as long as the points are not on the same horizontal or vertical axis.
- 1...2: The points of the spline diagonal are clicked.
- 3: The closed spline curve drawing is confirmed.
