New Sketch on a Plane

From the ribbon

  1. Select Part | Sketch | To Face or line.
  2. Select the plane in the model window.
  3. Draw a sketch or read an existing sketch from the sketch library.
  4. Accept the sketch by selecting OK or cancel it by selecting Exit.
Note: The plane must not be hidden and reference geometry must be visible (press G to show/hide reference geometry).

In context-sensitive menu in the model window

  1. Select the plane in the model window.
  2. Select the context-sensitive function New SketchFace / Parallel / Angle / Advanced.
  3. If you selected Parallel / Angle / Advanced, fill in the data to the dialog box.
  4. Draw a sketch or read an existing sketch from the sketch library.
  5. Accept the sketch by selecting the context-sensitive function OK or cancel it by selecting the context-sensitive function Exit.
Note: If you select Face, the sketch plane will be the selected plane. If you select Parallel, Angle or Advanced, you can define the sketch plane by filling in the values for distance and/or angle to the opened dialog box.

In context-sensitive menu in the feature tree

  1. Select a Plane.
  2. Select the context-sensitive function New Sketch.
  3. Draw a sketch or read an existing sketch from the sketch library.
  4. Accept the sketch by selecting the context-sensitive function OK or cancel it by selecting the context-sensitive function Exit.
Note: When you create a new sketch from the context-sensitive menu in the feature tree, the sketch plane will automatically be the selected plane.
