Rotate a Part in an Assembly

This function can be used to move the selected part, component or subassembly in an assembly. You can perform the rotation with a positive or negative angle value.

  1. Select a part, component or subassembly.
  2. Select the context-sensitive function Rotate.
  3. Indicate the axis, in relation to which the part will be rotated. Select either of the following:
    • Rotation Axis Line
    • Rotation Axis Start Point and End Point
    • The program opens the dialog box Rotation angle.
  4. Define the value for the rotation angle.

    The default angle value is 0, and the angle strain total. 0.

  5. Select OK.
    • The program rotates the part to the given position.
    • The title of the dialog box shows the value of the rotation angle relative to the original value.
  6. If you would like to rotate the part more, specify the change in the rotation angle. The angle value can be positive (+) or negative (-). The angle value is added or subtracted.
    • In the dialog box heading, you can see how many degrees you have rotated the part in total, in relation to its original position.
  7. Click OK to accept the rotation angle when the input field in the dialog box is set to 0 (zero).
