Sheet-Metal Design

General

Dialog box options

Value
Defines the sheet thickness value.
Formula
Defines the sheet thickness as a variable.
  • Enter a variable label to control the thickness of the part using a dimension table.
In
Adds the sheet on the inside of the chain of faces.
Middle
The selected face is a middle plane, and the sheet thickness will be divided symmetrically inside and outside plane.
Out
Adds the sheet on the outside of the chain of faces.
Change to sheet metal part
As a type of a sheet-metal volume created from a tangential shelling will be set Sheet-Metal Part, if the check box is selected.
  • This selection can be done, if the Sheet Metal Design option is in use.
  • If the check box is cleared, as a type of sheet-metal volume created from a normal part will remain Normal part.
  • The check box is inactive in the case of an already sheet metal part.
Material
You can select the material of the sheet metal part, if you selected Change to sheet metal part. Using the Select button you can select the sheet thickness, density, color and bend allowance. The Material of the Sheet Metal Part
Elements
A list of the selected surfaces and lines.
  • The selected surfaces form the surface chain based on which the sheet-like part is modeled.
  • The selected lines define where the sheet is cut.
  • You can edit the list also with the context-sensitive menu.
Add
Add new surfaces or lines defining cutting points, if needed.
  • Select Add.
  • Click the surface you want to add to the surface chain or the line you want to cut.
Change
Change the surface/line to another surface, if necessary.
  • Select the surface/line to be changed.
  • Select Change.
  • Click the replacing element.
Delete
If necessary, remove a surface or line.
