Add a Centering Constraint
General
- For the centering constraint, three elements are required, of which the first two lines or points define the edges on which the last element (point) is centered.
- In sketch geometry, the symbol for the centering constraint is .
- You can use the F9 key to show and hide the symbols of the constraints.
Add a centering constraint in plane sketch
- Select the function Sketch | Constraints | Add centering constraint.
- Select the first line or point.
- Select the second line or point.
- These lines or points remain in place unless the point to be centered is locked in place with constraints.
- Select the point that you want to center.
- This point will move so that it is in the middle of the selected lines or points.
- However, if the point you want to centered is locked in place with constraints, the program moves one of the initially selected elements.
- Repeat steps 2 to 4 to add new centering constraints
- Stop adding centering constraints
- Select another function or
- press the V key or
- press the Esc key or
- click the middle mouse button.
