Add a Diameter Constraint

General

  • You can only set a diameter constraint for a circle, not an arc.
  • The diameter dimension is also created in a sketch with the function Add a distance constraint if the second element to be dimensioned is a rotation axis type line.

Add a diameter constraint in a plane sketch

  1. Select Sketch | Constraints | Add diameter constraint.
  2. Select a circle.
  3. Click the position of the dimension.
    • The program opens the dialog box Edit Constraint.
  4. Edit the data in the Edit Constraint dialog box.
  5. Select OK.
    • If the diameter constraint is the first diameter constraint in the sketch, and there are no distance or radius constraints in the sketch yet, then the diameter constraint scales all lines in the sketch to match the entered dimension.
  6. Repeat steps 2 to 5 to add new diameter constraints
  7. Stop adding diameter constraints
    • Select another function or
    • press the V key or
    • press the Esc key or
    • click the middle mouse button.
