Add a Symmetry Constraint
General
- The symmetry constraint requires three elements (lines or points), of which the symmetry axis must be a line (segment).
- The symmetry axis is selected as the last element.
- You can select a line of the center cross of the sketch as one element.
- In sketch geometry, the symbol for symmetry constraint is .
- You can use the F9 key to show and hide the symbols of the constraints.
Add a symmetry constraint in a plane sketch
- Select Sketch | Constraints | Add symmetry constraint.
- Select the first line or point.
- Select the second line or point.
- Select the symmetry axis.
- The second selected line or point moves so that it is symmetric with the first line or point with respect to the symmetry axis.
- The symmetry axis can also move if the first and second elements are locked in place with constraints.
- Repeat steps 2 to 4 to add new symmetry constraints
- Stop adding symmetry constraints
