Editing a Dimension Table in a XML File
General
- You can export the dimension table data of a part or assembly into an XML file. Edit the file in Excel.
- If you want to add several table labels at once, you should do the work using Excel.
Edit the dimension table in Excel
Do as follows:
- Select the context-sensitive function Dimension Table.
- Select Export Database.
- By default, a file named dimtable.xml is saved alongside the model. You can save the dimension table with a different name, but usually there is no need for it.
- If a file with the same name is already open in Excel, the dimension table is not opened.
- Save the XML file.
- The dimension table data is opened in Excel.
- Edit the data in Excel and save it.
- Keep the XML format in the save
- Return the data to Vertex with the dimension table function Import Database.
- By default, the program reads the dimtable.xml file you saved above.
- Test the dimension table
- Select a row
- Click Apply.
