Construction Line
General
- The construction line will only be displayed in the sketching mode of part modeling.
- You can also draw a construction line with a standard two-point line when you select Constr line in the Style group.
- In the context-sensitive menu, you can find the function Construction line that draws a line with the construction line style.
Sketch a construction line using the context-sensitive function
- Select the context-sensitive function Line > Construction line.
- Click the start point of the construction line.
- Click the end point of the construction line.
- Before clicking a point, you can use the direction lock provided by the cursor to the X, Y or 45° angle directions.
- You can also use shortcut keys to lock directions:
- U: Locks the direction to the horizontal of the sketch plane (X axis direction).
- I: Locks the direction to the vertical of the sketch plane (Y axis direction).
- E: Locks the direction in the direction of the line under the cursor.
- T: Locks the direction in a direction perpendicular to the line under the cursor.
- Instead of clicking the points, you can enter the relative or absolute coordinates of the points from the keyboard, at the same time the program adds a distance constraint to the line.
Note that you can first lock the direction of the line and then enter the distance.
- Repeat steps 2 to 3 to continue sketching construction lines.
