Polyline
General
- Sketch the polyline chain by clicking the starting point, the points at the points of discontinuity and the ending point.
- Instead of clicking the points of discontinuity and the end point, you can enter their location from the keyboard.
- The program automatically adds a coincidence constraint between the segments of the polylines.
- If you use horizontal or vertical locking, the program automatically adds a parallel constraint to the segment with respect to the line of the central cross.
- If you use 45° direction locking, the program automatically adds a Direction(45), Direction(135), Direction(225) or Direction(315) constraint to the segment, depending on the relative direction of the second point.
- If you use E-locking, the program automatically adds a parallel constraint to the segment in relation to the reference line.
- If you use T-locking, the program automatically adds a perpendicular constraint to the segment in relation to the reference line.
Sketch a polyline
- Select the function Sketch | Lines | Polyline or Polyline or- select the context-sensitive function Line > Line > Polyline. Polyline.

- select the context-sensitive function
- If necessary, select the line properties, under Sketch | Style
- Select the start point of the line.
- Select the following points of the polyline.- Before clicking a point, you can use the direction lock provided by the cursor to the X, Y or 45° angle directions.
- You can also use shortcut keys to lock directions:- U: Locks the direction to the horizontal of the sketch plane (X axis direction).
- I: Locks the direction to the vertical of the sketch plane (Y axis direction).
- E: Locks the direction in the direction of the line under the cursor.
- T: Locks the direction in a direction perpendicular to the line under the cursor.

- Instead of clicking the points, you can enter the relative or absolute coordinates of the points from the keyboard, at the same time the program adds a distance constraint to the line. Note that you can first lock the direction of the line and then enter the distance. Note that you can first lock the direction of the line and then enter the distance.

- Stop sketching this polyline- Press the V key (V = Confirm) or
- Press the middle mouse button.

- Repeat steps 2 to 5 to continue sketching polylines.
- Stop sketching polylines- Select another function or
- Press the middle mouse button or
- Press the Esc key or
- Press the V key (V = Confirm).
